What happens if I was already certified with Judge Academy (JAc)? Am I screwed?
Can I become a Premiere Judge if I was a JAc L1?
All those questions and more answered here!!
Previously certified judges are key to the development and growth of our program! That's why we're working on a path to carry-over your previously certified knowledge!
This process is still open to change and there might be a couple of cases that do not fall in any of the options we provide. If you believe yours is one of those changes, please contact us via info@juecesmtg.org
General carry-over details
Regardless of you JAc level or your new Judge Category and Medals, every person has to take and approve a basic rules exam.
Level 1 judge
Every JAc L1 judge can apply to become a Regular Judge.
If you're a L1 judge with proven experience as a HJ in 2 or more Competitive REL events in 2023, you can apply to become a Competitive Judge, by approving a simple policy exam.

If you're a L2 judge with proven experience in leadership positions in 6 Large Tournaments (MagicCon, SCGCon, etc), or have 6 or more Competitive REL events where you've worked as a HJ in 2023, you can apply to become an Advanced Judge, by passing an interview that will also serve as your Leadership Medal evaluation.
Level 3 judge
You can apply to become a Premiere Judge (yes, you, Hector!!!!)
